CST for Mothers, Babies and Children
It seems to me that sometimes our various health agencies seem to treat pregnancy as an illness which needs to be kept tightly under control. The truth is that the female body has very sophisticated abilities, mechanisms and processes that are designed specifically to guide, time and control the things that need to ocur during conception, pregnancy and childbirth. Equally the foetus also has it's guidance systems, and both the mother and baby communicate and interact constantly, responding to each other's changes and needs.

However, sometimes circumstances dictate that these natural processes are hurried along and this may lead to problems and discomforts. CranioSacral Therapy can improve the comfort of both mother and child before and after childbirth. A CST treatment on mother during pregnancy will help the natural changes to occur smoothly - the aim of CranioSacral Therapy is always to help the body's own healing mechanisms - and in this case it will help the body's adaptations that occur during pregnancy and childbirth. A CST treatment on mother after child birth will help to relax the joints and tissues that will have been challenged during pregnancy as well as giving a deep overall body relaxation.
A treatment on baby will help to relax joints and tissues that have been confined and tight in the last few weeks of pregnancy. Slightly tight hips, neck and tummy are common, in my experience. Infantile colic, poor sleep, erratic feeding, anxiety and general restlessness can arise from these discomforts and all respond not only very well, but also quickly, when treated with CST.
